Accepted · Sophie Davis CUNY BS/MD

“I am extremely grateful to have been accepted to the Sophie Davis CUNY BS/MD, shortening my timeline to become a doctor by one year and allowing me to graduate at 25. I would recommend Fast Track to MD to any capable high school and college students who are interested in an accelerated pathway to medicine. I would tell them that Dr. Samarrai is the right person to go to when seeking guidance.”

The problem

Strong numbers get you in the room. They don’t get you the seat.

By interview day, the applicants around you have the grades and the scores too. The interview is where a program finds out who you are once the questions stop being predictable. This is where strong applicants lose points.

Mistake one

They memorize scripts.

Interviewers hear rehearsed answers all day, and they can tell. A perfect script falls apart at the first follow-up question.

Mistake two

They give answers anyone could give.

“I want to help people” is true of every applicant in the building. It doesn’t explain why you, or why physician.

Mistake three

They freeze on scenarios.

MMI stations and ethical prompts can’t be answered from a list. Without a structure, even strong students ramble or pick a side too fast.

The other side of the table

Every answer is evidence.

Medical schools publish the qualities they look for in entering students, the AAMC Premed Competencies. Your interview is where you prove them out loud. Rate yourself honestly on six of them and see where to focus.

Interview rating forms vary by school. These six come from the AAMC Premed Competencies.

The difference

Same applicant. Different interview.

Walking in unprepared

  • You’ve rehearsed answers word for word, and they sound like it.
  • “Why medicine?” gets your most generic answer.
  • An ethical scenario catches you off guard.
  • You find out what the format is on interview day.

After Interview Immersion

  • You know your stories and the structure, so every answer sounds like you.
  • It gets a specific moment, what you did next, and why physician.
  • You have a way to reason through prompts you’ve never seen.
  • You know how traditional and MMI interviews differ and how to prepare for each.

I was in your seat once. I completed a 7-year BA/MD program and earned my MD at 23. I trained in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery and completed a pediatric ENT fellowship.

As a physician, I’ve also sat on the other side of the interview table. In this session, I’ll show you what that side of the table is listening for, and how to give it to them in your own words.

  • 7-year BA/MD, Rutgers–RWJ
  • MD at age 23
  • OTO–HNS residency, UConn

What families say

Guidance from someone who has walked this path.

From students and parents who have worked with Dr. Samarrai and Fast Track to MD.

Now preparing for MMI & CASPer

Dr. Samarrai took everything I was juggling and turned it into a clear plan. … Through all of it she was warm, encouraging, and honest. I never felt rushed or judged. … I finalized my school list around my real priorities, put every deadline on my calendar, reworked my personal statement and activities order, and started preparing for MMI interviews and CASPer. … The clarity and confidence alone were worth it.

GeorgeBS/MD Applicant · 1:1 Session

You didn’t give us generic checklists; you gave us immediate, targeted clarity on exactly what matters. I would highly recommend Fast Track to MD to any passionate high school or premed student who dreams of becoming a doctor. This program provides the exact guidance you need to navigate the entire path with absolute clarity.

PriyaPremed Parent · BS/MD Applicant Family

We gained a clear, organized roadmap of the pre-med journey. The session broke everything down into manageable steps and explained what medical schools are really looking for. It helped us see the big picture and understand how each step connects. The depth of information shared is truly invaluable, and much of it would have been extremely difficult for us to access or interpret clearly on our own.

ShwetaPremed Parent

I cannot tell you how grateful I am to come across your page and how helpful you have been in this process. It’s overwhelming and guidance from someone who has walked this path is truly invaluable.

KanwalPremed Parent · 1:1 Consultation

I felt like I was piecing everything together on my own without a very decisive mindset. The course gave me a much clearer roadmap for preparing for my journey to be a doctor while saving time.

KaylaPremed Student

Most people are only considering BS/MD and not considering how to regroup if it does not work out. The safety net is very important.

Physician ColleaguePracticing Physician

It really opened my mind to other options and routes I could take. Most importantly, I became more assured in this track. That if I was to fail, I would have a cushion to fall back on. I would definitely recommend this program for anyone interested in medicine and accelerating their pathway.

Questions

Before you register

Do I need an interview invitation to attend?

No. The best time to prepare is before the invitation arrives, so interview season is for practicing, not scrambling.

Is this for BS/MD or medical school applicants?

Both. It’s built for high school students preparing for BS/MD or BS/DO interviews and college students preparing for medical school interviews. We cover both traditional and MMI formats.

Can parents attend?

Yes. Parents who want to understand the interview process and help their student prepare are welcome.

Will you give me answers to memorize?

No. Memorized scripts are exactly what interviewers hear all day. You’ll leave with a structure you can apply to any question, plus your own stories to fill it.

How do I join on November 4?

After you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a calendar invite and your join link. The session runs in your web browser, so there’s no extra software to install.
